How did you get into the hostel industry? What were the beginnings of Minerva Hotel y Restaurante?
Minerva started seeing my parents with their own hotel restaurant. I couldn't run things my way, so I learned the business for almost two years then went into a call center for four years to buy all the stuff I needed and that's how Minerva came to be.
What’s your favorite thing about working in the Hospitality Industry?
Getting to know tourist, I have hosted people from United States, Guatemala, Honduras, Argentina, Switzerland, Belgium, England, Germany and even Japan.
What do you know about your work now that you wish you’d known when you first started?
Nothing really. I spent two years at my parent's place to see the pros and cons.
What’s your secret to making sure that guests have a great stay?
Personalized assistance. Making a friendly conversation as a host. Having not so common perks like kitchen closing late, smart tv, videogames and so on.
What type of guest would feel more comfortable at your facility than others? Can you tell us more about what you allow and don’t allow?
It is focused on families, low alcohol consumption, kid friendly and pet friendly. We do not allow strong alcohol use and loud noise.
